Pesticides Database

Enco Global Testing Services maintains a regularly updated database of pesticides measured on raw wool, scoured wool, yarns and fabrics to provide a resource for the wool industry at a time when many wool products have to fulfil stringent eco-label and other environmentally related criteria.

Similarly, the database can be used by companies to check whether certain raw material sources are more likely to cause them problems in terms of discharges of pesticides to sewer that could exceed legal limits, allowing manufacturers to make fully supported environment conscious decisions.

Enco Global Testing Services’s laboratory measures organochlorine (OC), organophosphorus (OP) and synthetic pyrethroid pesticides to part per billion levels on all types of fibre and textile product using methods developed in-house with state-of-the-art equipment.

Information from the database has been utilised not only by the textile industry but also by the Environment Agency, the British Wool Marketing Board and in DEFRA supported projects.
